In the Princess Bride, a guy named Westley meets a girl named Buttercup. They instantly fall in love, and Westley is constantly meeting Buttercups needs by responding “As you wish!’ One day when Westley has to leave, he promises Buttercup of his return. She later finds out that he was kidnaped and killed by pirates because they took no prisoners. After a lot of mourning, she ends up finding herself married to the prince (whom she doesn’t love at all). Once she is taken, Westley (who happens to still be alive and has been waiting his whole life to return to Buttercup) goes after her and attempts to save her. First, he has to fight his way past Inigo Montoya, then he has to beat the giant, and lastly he plays a game with poison to win back the princess Buttercup. When he wins, Buttercup doesn’t recognize him at first because he was wearing a mask. But once she heard the good old “As you wish!” she instantly knew it was him. The only downside, the prince and his men had also been searching for Buttercup. They were catching up behind them, so Buttercup and Westley decided to go into the fire swamp. They had heard before that no one has made it out alive of the swamp, but there only chance was to go in anyway. I was gone when we finished the film, but i’m sure the ending was pretty interesting. :)
Added Note:
Overall I liked the princess bride because even though it was an older film, it wasn’t boring or filmed weird (like an opera). I was expecting the language of the characters to sound odd (Like Yoda where their speech is somewhat hard to understand) but it made perfect sense and there was a hint of sarcasm in the show that kept it entertaining as well. I would recommend this show to anyone over the age of 12 because it’s it has monsters, hero’s, princesses, and more, but it’s still serious enough for an adult to enjoy.
