The Goonies portrayed a fun and adventurous feel to it, hence it being in the genre of adventure. This movie used effective techniques throughout the movie such as: making the names of the kids short and descriptive, using kids as opposed to adults, and always having a sense of comedy accompanied by suspense, as for the names and why they made them like that, in my opinion, was to have an easy to say and understandable state of identification. Every name in the film more or less described the person such as mouth and data, which helped make the characters throughout the movie. The directors build a good sense of the characters by building on what they do and who they are. The film uses kid to add a fun/humorous sense to the story and to intrigue young viewers and nostalgic adults, a movie for everyone.

I like that you explained the meanings of the short names and how they related to that person's character.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the short nick-names really helped me remember who was who. They kind of described the kids and their personality. My favorite character was either Chunk or that asian kid Data because their personalities were both hilarious.
