Ey Victor

As I was watching Smoke Signals, I thought about what the director wanted to make the viewer feel.  The way he shows us Victors father and they way Jonathan talks to Victor about his father are somewhat different.  I think the director wanted us to see both sides of Victors dad through Victors eyes leading up to the end when Victor releases his ashes and either forgives him or doesn't forgive him for what he did.  I think that the line about his dad running back in the house to save Victor really sticks with the audience and with Victor as he is throwing the ashes into the river.  I felt like Jonathans character was almost the voice for the audience, he tells Victor stories about his dad that give the viewers an insight into Victors backstory as they go on their adventure.

I would recommend this movie to a very wide audience because I think almost anyone can benefit from it.  It has a lot of meaning about family, friendship, culture, and forgiveness.  Any group of people can learn from this movie and it is a very powerful message.
