Princess Bride offers nothing new to the adventure genre in terms
of storyline or set or setting, but has enjoyable and funny characters
(including Andre the Giant!), plus over sized rodents, in order to gain
the affection of the tough 1987 audience and ages to come. The movie is
presented as the imagination of a young bratty boy as his grandfather
reads from a book, which was actually pulled off very well, and adds to the magical/medieval
vibe of the movie. The film has a brilliant pace, and has an all
encompassing feel, with so much land being covered and the broad range
of emotions displayed from the characters (e.g. fear, hate, jealousy,
longing, satisfaction, uncertainty, over zealous confidence, and true
love of course). Even the young recipient of the story seems to have
aged by the end! Good movie, I'd say 7/10
