Smoke Signals

The movie Smoke signals is a very different creative movie. The movie has two young boys going on a journey to find ones father. Victors Father left home when he was younger because he felt like he wasn't wanted. He Abused the mother and Victor and was a very bad alcoholic. When the boys arrive to where victors father died they meet a woman who took care of his father. That night they get into telling stories about one another. Thomas Loves telling stories he twists them and gets into extreme depths trying to paint an image in your mind. Story telling is how Thomas communicates with people.

I thought the movie was different and hid much anger from Victor While Thomas tried to be the lighter side of the indian. I would recommend this book from 16 years old and up because the underlying subtext might not be understood by younger viewers.
