Jaws

Jaws, an iconic movie that has shaped our view of sharks forever. It is a mixture of suspense and adventure along with aspects of horror.  Spielberg has made a movie based on the fear of the unknown and wrapped it in an exaggerated extreme of a situation.  A huge shark that you can not see, but can see you, one that eats when you least expect it and hunts you in an environment where you cannot defend yourself. Jaws is the responsible for many pro shark inclinations and many bad ones including, fear of the ocean, shark hunts, and fear of a majestic creature. It along with the negatives came positives.  This inspired people to become shark activists and enthusiast which has helped the understanding of sharks as whole for many generations.  The Sixth Sense and Jaws are very different movies, but very similar in nature.  Jaws as well as The Sixth Sense uses music/sound to their advantage. Jaws is a wonderful work of art that even now is making me jump out of my seat which is rare for a movie of this age to have an effect like this on me.
