Five Broken Cameras

Five Broken Cameras is a revealing documentary highlighting an unfortunate circumstance regarding the clash over two warring societies and two warring ways of life.  People in and around the Palestinian village of Gil’in have no fixed income, and when Israeli military take away much of their land - they take away their livelihood as well.  The most disturbing aspect of the film was the interruption of the ancient way of life of the villagers for such un-sightly living accommodations (the apartments built by Israeli’s for the Israeli settlers).  An unwarranted trade off of ecological tranquillity for an ugly consumerism.
The Palestinian perspective is one hardly portrayed by our media, so this film has allowed me to see both sides of the ball.  However, no one really seems in the wrong.  Even the soldiers, aside from a few cheap shots, are just doing their jobs.  I don’t see a moral resolve for this.  It just happened/is happening and it sucks.  It’s no ones fault and everyone’s fault.  I find this documentary to be depressing.
