Cole See's Dead People
The Sixth Sense was an amazing Suspense film that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Out of all the movies I've seen in Film Studies, this was definitely my favorite. There were 2 main characters, Malcolm and Cole. Malcolm is a doctor, he's a psychologist. Cole is a 9 year old boy who sees ghosts (dead people). During this movie, it starts off with Malcolm getting rewarded a prize from the governor and then him and his wife return home to see a broken window and there is Malcolm's old patient standing in their home bathroom. This patient of his is really shaky and seems to be acting really suspicious, he has a gun. Malcolm tries talking to him and tries getting him to calm down but that doesn't work so Malcolm get's shot, and then the patient shoots himself. The next winter Malcolm is waiting for Cole across the street from his house, Cole comes outside and immediately makes his way towards a church. Once inside, Cole is playing with his action figures and speaking latin. Malcolm walks in after him and tells Malcolm that they're going to get to know each other, if that's okay with Cole. Later in the film, Cole is in a hospital room and Malcolm is right besides him. Cole tells Malcolm that he is now ready to share his secret and he says, "I see dead people." Throughout the rest of the film, Cole sees a lot more dead people that are now visible to the viewers (audience), and he tells Malcolm that the dead people are always angry. Malcolm tells Cole to talk to the dead people, because they might want something from him. Cole ends up helping a lot of the dead people and that makes Cole a lot happier, and he isn't afraid of them anymore. Cole tells his secret to his mother one day after his little play at his school, she doesn't believe him at first but then he starts telling her things that made her believe him and she told him that he isn't a freak like he thinks. From the scene where Malcolm is waiting for Cole outside of his house the fall after he'd been shot, until the last scene, Malcolm was dead. Malcolm was one of those dead people that Cole saw. This was one of the best films I've ever seen in my life, and I recommend everyone to watch it at least once. 10/10
