Jaws

Compared to the Sixth Sense, Jaws was extremely different.  There were two completely different elements of fear.  In the Sixth Sense, you would know something scary was coming as the music got quieter, or all of a sudden silent.  In Jaws, music would lead you up to the scary moment/climax.  It was also different how in the Sixth Sense, they would make you be afraid of the mind, while in Jaws, they would make you be afraid of the ocean.  Jaws was one of the first films where they used this type of perspective.  This movie changed human outlook on sharks to be more frightening.  The build up of people that died or went missing was interesting as the beaches became more and more dangerous.

The story was suspenseful, yet fun at the same time.  For the time period, they used just the right amount of effects to make the movie shine.  Some similar movies use CGI, and in this case, I think that would've been the wrong call.  It was great just how they made it.  Overall, a good film in our horror genre unit!
