March of the Penguins
The film itself was beautifully captured and incredible to watch. The film follows the trek the penguins of Antartica make every year to find a mate, give birth to their young, maintain a family, and stay alive. It gives an insight into the life a penguin in Antartica leads and just how ruthless and cruel the elements can be. I was surprised that the cameras were able to project such detailed closeups of the birds, so close you could see the texture of their feathers. Not only that, but the penguins seemed to completely ignore the camera men and just go on with their lives. The film channelled what it means to live literally in the middle of nowhere, the bond between mother and father and child, whether it be instinctual or loving, and just how difficult surviving on your own is. The narration done by Morgan Freeman definitely adds an interest to the movie, making it both a visual and auditorial splendor. In short, the film was not only scientifically intriguing, but also tugged at the heartstrings and left a lasting impression.

Dust to Glory
The film Dust to Glory was about a car and motorcycle race in Baja,Mexico.
It' was really hard for the drivers and they need a lot of concentration.
The film is different to "Five Broken Cameras", which was dramatic and an important social issue in the world what everyone should care about.
Dust to Glory is an issue and film what is more for people who are interested in cars and races.

Dust to Glory
This story is in Mexico. Once a year the rally in America. Here are Motorcycle and off-road vehicle. This movie let me how beautiful about the Mexico desert . There is really beautiful and every contestant was enjoy this race. I also can feel here is dangerous here, you dont know what will happen next road, here's environment is different, and they still drive at night. I think that's more exciting than daytime. I saw some accident here the contestant fall down, but they can still stand up and keep finish this game. They are very brave. After race they would play with the local kids drive and play a game with them. Everyone was enjoy this rally.
Jaws
This movie talk about a shark, In a famous beach, here is a hug shark near the beach and he will eat people. But the local government want to get more money so they didn't want to close the beach. One a boy dead because of the shark, his mom was so said. She shut to the officer why you know the shark is here but you didn't close the beach. Here is a shark experts wants to catch the shark with the local officer. They borrow a small ship with a captain. They are so lucky because they found the shark, but the shark is so strong, they can't catch him, they try a lots of ways to catch him, but it's didn't work .At night the shark go back to the ship and broken the ship. And the captain was so angry and broken the walkie-walkie. they can't ask help. Finally the shark get on the ship, they put a oxygen tank in his month and use the gun shoot the oxygen tank. The shark is dead but they lost the captain and ship.
March of the Penguins (Film Critique)
March of the Penguins was an adorable documentary about the obstacles Emperor penguins have to endure on their journey across the Antarctic. The quality of this film was amazing because they filmed so close to the penguins that you could see the texture of their fur. I learned so much about the little tricks they have to survive, such as being able to hold their breath for 15 minutes, engulfing their baby's egg with their skin (so they stay warm), sliding on their bellies when their feet get tired, etc. This documentary wasn't just a summary of how the Emperor penguin lives, but I learned a lot and enjoyed seeing the baby penguins grow.
March of the Penguins
If you were asked to write down everything you know about penguins, what would you write? That they're cute, live in the one cold place...the one without Santa Claus, and in Happy Feet they dance? Yet there are so many things that people don't really know about them, March of the Penguins shows us the hardships they face in order to bring new life to this world. Mile after mile they walk to the breeding ground to find their mate and lay their egg. This film documents the live or death struggles that penguins face throughout this process, from starvation to the bitter cold winter.
Dust to Glory
Dust to Glory is about the Baja 1,000 race in Baja, Mexico, it shows the thrills and dangers of entering in this race. I liked this film a lot because of how exciting and exhilarating it is, unlike many documentaries. Besides being very entertaining to watch it tells about the struggles that each contestant had to face on the way to the finish line. The most exciting contestant being Mike McCoy, or "Mouse", a dirt biker whose goal is to complete the entire race on his own. Dust to Glory is a film that I think everyone would like and enjoy watching.
Five Broken Cameras
Five Broken Cameras is a very inspirational film that tells a story that many don't know about or just ignore, the story about a village, named Bil'in, trying to fight against the Israeli government, in order to keep their land. The man who captures this unknown side of the story, is a Palestinian man by the name of Emad Burnat. This struggle is recorded on five cameras, due to the fact that it took all five cameras to document the story he want to show the world. This is a film that will change your outlook on the war between the Palestinians and Israel.
Jaws
Jaws is a classic film that must be seen at least once in everyone's lifetime. This film is good and the prefect amount of suspense that you like in a movie. I will admit that this film is the reason that I wasn't able to go into the ocean for five years, I still don't enjoy the ocean but my fear of it is slowly going away. Proving that this film has just the right level of fear that everybody is able to sit through and watch to the every end. Not to mention the slight humor that is found throughout the film, to it to ease the feeling of being scared. Jaws is a must see film and will be for the decades to come, a timeless movie that is near perfect.

Dust to Glory
Only seeing half of the film was enough to get the story line of this captivating documentary. I had heard plenty about the the Baja 1,000 and have a close friend whose dad is a avid competitor in it, and has placed impressively throughout the past years. Every time he'd return back from Baja, he always had a new story to share about the race, some crazy experience he had had either on or off the track. To see what he, and what the other competitors face was pretty incredible. The tradition and background of the race itself is quite historic and traces back farther than you'd expect. The interviews with the racers stood out to me particularly, hearing them relate their experiences and why they risk their lives for the sport they love. The way some of the racers would interpret their rides made me want to experience for myself. It seemed as if they were in a perpetual euphoria of sorts while they were racing. The shots in the film were not only rustic, but very, very beautiful. The landscape could've had a documentary of its own, and it added a higher, more unreal sense to the race; just conveying your awe deeper and deeper into the plot.
5 Broken Cameras
Taken from an aspect of another side of the story that is not often looked at, if not completely ignored. The film is shot by a Palestinian man living in Bil'in, a village located in West Bank in the middle east. His five cameras capture the non-violent protests of his village, speaking out against the Israeli government taking over their land to form a physical border between the two countries, and the violent rebuttal's the protests receive. The film touches on the brutality of the human spirit and that there's two sides to every story. To see the perspective of another in a war that is highly publicized, was eye opening in a sense. The news seems to interpret the Palestinians as the "enemy" and that they are the ones attacking the Israelis, when reality the Israelis are just as, if not more, guilty for acts of murder, unlawful arrests, and brutality against the Palestinians. The way it appears is that these two worn torn countries that have had their own fair share of loss and blood shed from the opposing side, and that not one, but both are to blame for the tragedies that have swept over their homelands.

March of the penguins
beautifully shot, wonderfully narrated, funny and touching. i loved this movie, but was surprised that there was no warning whatsoever that dead baby penguins were shown. be careful taking young or easily upset children to see this movie. some of the themes explored are uncomfortable and include death, child abandonment, and kidnapping. be prepared to answer uncomfortable questions. otherwise, though, this movie is a lot of fun. i, a full grown woman who attended this movie without children, laughed aloud at the silly waddling and giggled at how cute the babies were. i was touched at the loving tenderness and sensuality with which the mama and daddy penguins nuzzled each other. on the whole, this was a great movie.
March of the Penguinos (across the rez)
This was a great documentary film on the species of penguins. This movie was filled with information of the life style of penguins that nobody would know. The cinematography in this film was great, this showed a view of the penguins natural way of life with no human interference or staging. To believe that a penguin will go 6 months without eating while protecting its child and waiting for the mother to return to bring food for him and the baby, and the mother does not return she could kill the father and the baby but in doubt the father will leave if the mother does not return and it will leave the baby to die. This movie had information that you would not imagine and things you could never imagine possible were proved possible. This was a beneficial movie for the class because we all now know more information on topics that could interest others in the future.
March of the Penguins
"But most of all, this is a film about love." - Morgan Freeman.
This romantic documentary exposés the amazing breeding cycle of the Emperor Penguin, one of the most remarkable creatures on the earth. They're undying commitment to each other allows them to raise chicks on the harshest environment on earth, commuting 70 miles to the ocean for food.
I think the most stunning moments of the film are during mating, when the couples gently neck each other, and revel in each others company. It might be the most intimate moment I've ever seen any creatures share. The taping of the documentary is spectacular. I can only imagine the hell those camera men went through. Morgan Freeman's voice was icing on the cake. 10/10

MARCH ØF THE PENGUIN$
March of the penguins was really good, I liked how the penguins marched. Sometimes penguins lay eggs, and when the baby hatches, they walk around really slow and sometimes the dads will be so hungry because the babies are their priority and they don't want to leave them alone to go eat, but when they do leave the babies, they die. This movie was beautiful because Morgan Freeman was the narrator, and he's the best narrator in the whole world. His voice made the movie more fun to watch and I liked how it was filmed, up close to the penguins without invading their space and making them mad. I recommend this to my friends, 8/10.
March of the Penguinos
March of the Penguins was a good documentary about the life cycle of penguins in Antarctica. It was intriguing how the cameramen got such good angles without disturbing the penguins. This film must've been especially difficult to film with all the different weather getting in the way as well. I like how Morgan Freeman narrated. Good movie overall! Keep swimming Victor!
March Of The Penguinas
March Of The Penguins is a exciting documentary of the migration of peguins for mating purposes. The need and desire of these penguins to ensure there immortality through their children drives them to walk miles upon miles and starve for a whopping 3 months, they do it all for their offspring. This wonderful event was captured so well by building hideouts that do not show any signs of human life that let the penguins truly act in there natural beings. The music was outstanding as well. The mixture of the astonishing footage along with the perfect melodic music creates an impacting film that informs and excites. This documentary is just one example of the absolutely treacherous roads that creatures take for their offspring and frankly its quite shocking. Humans today dont compare to animals and there ventures and to see a mother and father do this is quite compelling.
March of the Penguins
The documentary march if the penguins is about the penguins.
At the end of the antarctic summer the penguins have to walk a long way to the open summer. On this way a lot of penguins died because the way is too long and the heavy storm makes them too tired and faint.
The film was really informative and interesting.
This was also a different type of documentary films.
Now we learned about three types of documentary films.
1. Social issues/History (Five broken cameras)
2. Hobbies (Dust to Glory)
3. Science (March of the penguins)

P3NGU1NS
March of the Penguins follows the breeding season of a group of emperor penguins as they decide to surface. This film takes a look at the aspects of life and death. The real message that this film presented to me was that with life comes death and vise versa. Morgan Freeman does an excellent job of commentating this film as the penguins march across their ice. During this film there are spaces of momentary boredom, but the film makes up for it by presenting emotional aspects of penguins. These penguins are very adorable, and their life is harsh but they seem to make it work. I give this film 8 newborn baby penguins out of 10.
March of the Penguins
The March of the Penguins is about how these creatures can live and thrive in the hardest place on Earth to do so. It is about the cycle of life from birth from an egg and how many will die in this stage if they are exposed for too long. They have to go without food for months before one of their parents returns with food. Then they have to wait again in a vulnerable young state for food. Once they have matured enough to be on their own their parents will both leave and they will have to wait by themselves for food. Eventually the young penguins part ways with their parents and go into starting the whole cycle over again themselves. I think its really high quality how they got such nice shots in the middle of blizzards and freezing weather. Morgan Freeman narrating the movie makes it entertaining for the whole time.
March of the penguins
I really like the idea of watching documentaries. By watching this movie the March of the Penguins I learned a lot. I learned that the father actually takes a big care of the baby. I also learned that the parents spend a lot of time away from each other retrieving food for he baby and themselves. I was also interested because it was about the circle of life and taught me a lot. I would rate this movie very high because of how informative it was for me. Finally the picture of the movie like how close they were was awesome. It really showed you what was happening.
Film critique
There are positives and negatives of this movie. In one respect it is beautifully filmed and they were able to capture some breathtaking moments on film. The penguins life span is so amazing and these animals strive through so much to ensure the continuation of their species. The more I watch the penguins they become more human too me. A mother and father who will stand out in the cold to protect their babies. This is why I don't really like some parts of this movie. You grow to love each and every penguin and admire their stories, and we are forced to see them die and no make it even after all they have been through. I know that it is part of life to die but it's just so hard for me to watch. I love animals so much and it's so heartbreaking to see a baby penguin die. I do think it's a beautiful movie and enjoyed watching it.
I cannot believe how much the penguins are able to overcome. I found myself thinking it's a miracle that any of them survived and were able to come back when they are full grown. They are truly amazing creatures.

Independent Film Critique Hunger Games
The Film Hunger Games acts in the future. North America is distroyed and reconstructed and disposed into 12 districts where the poor people live and one capital where the rich and influential people live.
Every year the hunger games take place. One girl and one boy from every district are chosen to take part at the hunger games.
In the hunger games the candidates have to kill each other.
The last person who stays alive wins and can go back to his family. The citizen from the capital watch that as a game show.
In this film Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence) and Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) are the main characters from district 12. Together they fight to stay alive.
I like this film a lot. It's exciting and it has a deeper meaning and an interesting background.
The author of this book/film was inspired of a game show which she saw on TV and then she changed the TV station and saw that child soldiers kill each other in the news. So she combined this two things.
She was also inspired by the Roman History, where the government established the fights in the Colosseum to abstract the citizen from the government decisions and problems.

Baja 1,000
I really like watching documentaries because you get to see the perspective from many different points of view. For example you got to see the reaction from many different drivers after they had raced their leg of the race and they were way out of it. I have never heard of the Baja 1,000 and the idea is very interesting. This race pushes people to the brink. It awesome how the big names come out and have the same chance of winning as unknowns because the course is so unpredictable. It is also interesting knowing men die in the race like the famous motorcyclists who was an amazing rider and died during this race. Thus race is so intense and I kinda want to find out more about it. Overall I would give this movie a 4 out 5 stars because it was very informative.
Dust to Glory (Film Critique)
Dust to Glory was one of my favorite documentaries because most of the documentaries I have seen have either been depressing or lost my interest. The Baja 1000 off-road race was thrilling and intriguing because it amazed me how dangerous, yet exciting this race was to all those people. I felt like I was there watching the race or taking part in it because you could see what all the contestants had to go through. You could tell this race meant everything to some people, and hundreds of them would come to watch. The filming was mostly done by GoPro's, which I enjoyed because you could see all the action and; again, felt like you were there. The film mainly focuses on a man named Mike McCoy; or "Mouse", who's goal is to complete the entire course by himself. Most of the people who take part in the race have a team with them. At first you wouldn't think a race like this would seem so hard because you are on or in a vehicle, but between the weather conditions, sketchy terrain, and dangerous competitors, it was impressive if you even made it out injury free.

Dust to Glory
Dust to Glory is about people that put themselves through a long,
grueling race in the Baja peninsula for their own satisfaction. That's
about it. It's a cool concept, but after I got the idea, I was ready
for the movie to be over.
I would imagine that this documentary would be more exciting for people that are more interested in racing motor vehicles, but I was very bored for much of the movie. The movie doesn't seem to have an overarching theme, except that some people like together and do extraordinarily difficult things. Maybe it would be like climbing a mountain. But at least a documentary about that would have better scenery.

Dust to Glory
Dust to Glory was a very fun movie that explained all about the Baja 1000. There are many different classes including 4 wheelers, bikes, and trophy trucks. The most interesting story though, was about Mouse McCoy. He decided to do the entire race by himself. The movie mostly followed him. It was interesting how he was so tired that he was beginning to become delusional throughout the race. I like the different camera angles from helicopters and on the vehicles. Overall it was a good story that was told well. Keep racing Victor!
Dust to Glory Film Critique
Dust to Glory is a really inspiring story of how people are willing to endure pain, give up time, and put forth everything they have to accomplish a goal. The Baja 500 is not only a race but a journey through the mexican desert that changes and shapes people they cross the finish line. From age 20-65 there are amazing contestants that took charge of their bodies and minds to do something very few people have ever done. I cannot imagine riding through the desert with only yourself and your bike to rely on. Mouse tried to ride all the way by himself and for those who doubt it's dangerous, people have in fact died trying to do this.
Sometimes documentaries are slow and boring but this fast paced movie really caught my attention. The skills needed to complete this race is incredible! The bonds made with others during is race, like father and son, brother and brother will last forever.

Dust To Glory
Documentary films always expel emotion and Dust To Glory was no exception. It caught me by surprise to be honest in a very passionate and distinctive way. The whole film in general caught the speed, intensity, and full experience of the Baja race in a way that I didn't even know was possible, it literally had me out of my for most of the intense scenes and for a documentary to do that is quite amazing. the shear speed and furry along with the way it was captured provided a real sense to and it portrayed the relationships in the movie with a lot of emotion and commonality to a degree. I pictured myself with my father doing all the things that were shown which gave me a widely real sensation of emotion if I were to race. For me this is unheard when looking at documentaries and I am so happy it gave me the opportunity to really immerse my self into the Baja experience and its competitors.
Dust to glory
I like the fact that we were watching a documentary because in documentaries you learn and discover something you did not know existed. I was not aware there was a race that went on for 1,000 miles and that this race has been going on for a long time. The Baja 1,000 is a legendary race for all racers and one of the biggest challenges of a race and also with the most variety of vehicles. After watching this movie and I was aware of what the Baja was I noticed a tragic event. A professional motorcyclist Kurt Caselli died in a crash during a Baja Scoring and if I had not found out of this race before the documentary I would not know what the Baja was and how intense it was. Knowing the background of Kurt Caselli and how great of a rider he was and to see that he passed away in an accident during the race really shows you how dangerous and intense this race really is and how much of a life treating risk the riders are taking.
Dust to Glory Critque
Dust to Glory is about more than just a race, its about humans, and why the human race does what it does. Some people entered the race to try and win because that is what they are about, and for others it was just to be a part of something with other people. It didn't matter to some what place they got, as long as they crossed the finish line, and to others first place was all that mattered. I liked the idea that this movie was able to get across by talking about the race allowing anyone to enter. Professional racers where competing against amateur's and newcomers. It was very well edited together with a wide variety of captivating footage from helicopters and helmet cameras of the race. The interviews fit in nicely with the footage and music. I would recommend this movie to anyone who has an interest in racing and in human nature.

DU$T TØ GLØRY
Dust to Glory was a fantastic documentary that I actually enjoyed. It would be so ill to compete in one of these races, but I wouldn't want to die or get hurt badly, the speed is all what I'm about. I love going fast! This documentary was on racing in the Baja 1,000 and its a race through the desert. I really enjoyed watching this movie because it was about not only racing for yourself, but you would or at least could help others along the way. Everyone cared for each other and everyone was like a big happy family no matter what. I enjoyed this documentary a lot actually, probably because I didn't really know much about Baja races before this, but it was very entertaining. I recommend this film to anyone who likes fast vehicles being involved in dangerous and adrenaline pumping situations. I rate this a 9/10.
Dust to Glory
Dust to Glory was a awesome movie it would be sweet to race in that race. If I had a lot of money to spend I would buy a dune buggy and rice in that I love racing. I was glade to see this movie I din't know that this race even existed the movie just made me want to race and drive face, the other thing that the movie gave me a thrill. I think this movie is the best movie we have seen in this class so far I hope we see more movies like this that would be awesome.
5 broken cameras
In the documentary Five Broken Cameras things that I had no idea about are being displayed in a very shocking and compelling way that has a very realistic sense to it. I saw people, real people, getting shot because of non-violent protest. It was obscene. These families that have had land taken away from them that are fighting to get it back are no different than me, they are human beings and in this documentary they are not treated as such in some scenarios. Media today likes to show the vantage points that aid there country or stance on politics and if it doesn't they don't usually show it. Israel is an ally to the U.S. so I have seen this part anywhere in media remotely, these people are passionate about their land and act as such with severe punishment.

The Sixth Sense
The film the Sixth Sense is exciting. It let the audience puzzle what happens next. There were just a little moments that you were a scared a little bit. You divine something more worse than it was.
The end was really good and surprising.
The main actors Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment made a really good job in this film.

5 Broken Cameras
Five broken Cameras
The film five broken cameras is filmed by a citizen in Palestine. He shows the view from the Palestine side during the war between Israel and Palestine.
I like the film because it shows how the daily war life for the palestinians citizen really is.
It's sad and shocking to see how heartless the soldiers throw bombs to innocent citizen who just want to keep their land with their olive trees. The citizen earn money from selling olives and the soldiers just burn the olive trees down.
I think it's important that people in the world now both sides of the war, the side from Israel and the side from Palestine, because the most people probably just know about the side of Israel.
But this film shows exactly how it is on the side of the palestinians.

5 broken cameras
5 broken cameras is a film that opens the eyes to many people who watch it. It shows the unthinkable, it shows how people can just intrude into your land by force and when you try to defend it you are either arrested or shot. If you try to imagine something like this happening to you it would be almost impossible, nobody can picture men coming in guns and killing off and arresting all of your friends and taking what is yours. This film shows what it is like from the victims point of view and you absorb this feeling of being at the bottom of the food chain. Theres nothing you can do besides sit back and let whatever is happening burn out because it times of hardship in this film, when you attempted to speak for yourself you would be killed.
5 Broken Cameras
Five Broken Cameras was an intense movie, let me tell you. I was not expecting to watch a couple of kids kicking around some grenades like it was nothing. This film shows what the average person can never imagine happening to them in real life. Foreign men coming into your home and taking everything you own and killing off and arresting your friends and family. This is an unimaginable catastrophe that can not be resolved without lots of support. If you try to stand up for yourself you will be detained or severely injured or possibly killed. This is a situation where you have to sit back and let it burn out and pray for the best and hope someone will come along and help.

Five Broken Cameras
Five Broken Cameras is a revealing documentary highlighting an unfortunate circumstance regarding the clash over two warring societies and two warring ways of life. People in and around the Palestinian village of Gil’in have no fixed income, and when Israeli military take away much of their land - they take away their livelihood as well. The most disturbing aspect of the film was the interruption of the ancient way of life of the villagers for such un-sightly living accommodations (the apartments built by Israeli’s for the Israeli settlers). An unwarranted trade off of ecological tranquillity for an ugly consumerism.
The Palestinian perspective is one hardly portrayed by our media, so this film has allowed me to see both sides of the ball. However, no one really seems in the wrong. Even the soldiers, aside from a few cheap shots, are just doing their jobs. I don’t see a moral resolve for this. It just happened/is happening and it sucks. It’s no ones fault and everyone’s fault. I find this documentary to be depressing.

5 B r Ok en C a ME R a S
Throughout the entirety of this documentary you can’t help but feel for these people. The documentary is so involved in the everyday life of this towns people. How terrifying it would be to live there, as well as how easily you can be arrested for doing nothing wrong. Five Broken Cameras was filmed in such a way that you feel involved in the action. I feel that it was a extremely difficult documentary to film/produce. It would be terrifying to have filmed this documentary, and mega recognition is deserved. This film has completely changed my mind on how our military system is, I used to think that the policing of Park City was too harsh, but now that i’ve witnessed the perspective from other countries I realize how truly lucky I am. This documentary gets 7 torn down walls out of 10.
5 Broken Cameras
Five Broken Camera’s showed people a part of the world they know very little about. American people don’t have a way to see what is going on for normal people in other parts of the world. It also gave the Palestinian people a voice, to tell people what was going on and how they felt about the way they were being treated. A different perspective was offered through the power of the camera for people to feel what they feel and have a different angle on things. If this man hadn’t taken camera’s with him throughout his life, no one would have known what was happening and what it was like to be him and people like him. People would have had a pre-existing mindset that Israel was doing the good thing and that Palestine was a bad place but this movie shows that everyone can do bad things to other people who aren’t necessarily who we thought they were. I would recommend this movie to others and hope that they can gain something from it.
5 Broken Cameras
Five Broken cameras was a very engaging movie. It was really interesting to be thrown into a different perspective that we don’t think about often. It’s amazing to think of what they are going through, even now. It really hit me when he said that he has no fixed income, but just works to feed himself and his family. In the 21st century. The story was intriguing because there were a few different levels to it. The characters in the film were all highly motivated to show that they were worth more than the Israeli’s thought they were. Then there was the story of just the cameras and how they were salvaged, then later destroyed. Very good film!

This movie is of a man taking 5 different cameras and filming him and his family revolting agains the army trying to protest the taking of their land. The movie shows you a new and very different view point from behind the camera man. The story mainly follows himself, his family, and his brother throughout their protesting. You never really see the side of a protester it is usually from the point of view of the army, and I like the different scenario. I would give this movie 4 out of 5 stars because I thought it to be very intriguing but I wish they showed more interaction with the family and how the outcomes affected them.
5 Broken Cameras
This is a well made documentary that allows you to experience the life of Palestinian villagers under the unjust Israeli occupation. It is very sad to see such a proud and resilient people suffer on their own land due to a ruthless and greedy occupation.
What touched me the most about this film was the bravery of these unarmed Palestinians very man, every woman and every child who stand up day after day to the illegal confiscation of their farm land, their olive trees, and to the soldiers who support usurping settlers and shoot live and rubber ammunition at unarmed protesters. The Israeli army also regularly terrorizes and punishes the whole village, down to arresting children.

5 Broken Carmeras
I thought it was a great documentaries he knew what he had to do to get all the shoots i thought that was amazing how he filmed and rite at the same time. The one thing that I hated was that the hole movie was subtitles I like to read but in a movie like this one if you look away for a second you might not know what is going on and I like to know whats happing because I hate missing things. I have never seen this film and I din't even know that this was going on its a really sad movie I don't know what the Israel government did when the soldiers killed those people. That why I love documentaries because it shows the other view of things, sometimes the gruesome view and you don't see that view in the news and thats why I hate the news because it does not show both sides of the story. If you want to see a good documentaries see this one.
5 broken cameras, 2 opened eyes
This documentary really opened my eyes I was so astonished to see how the different periods of peace and chaos affected the lives of the man's three sons. His children were so desensitized to war times that they did even think a gun shot or protest was anything to blink about. I see the helicopter parents here that won't let their 5 year olds cross the street without holding their hands and then across the world there are people who encourage their children to go out and watch protests in where there uncles and fathers are getting shot and dragged into a van. I cannot believe their bravery, and it causes me to ask myself if they are brave out of necessity or are simply born more nobel than others. Hipster film junkies in america may try to film their everyday lives of going to Starbucks and their trails of picking a drink from the menu, but this documentary is special because it's so genuine. He did not film this for money or fame he did it to remember his life and show the world what was going on. It would be so surreal to live in an area like that during these times. I will never know whats it's like to fear for my freedom and be willing to fight for it no matter the costs. I am very fortunate is this way. It was strange how parents here encourage their children to persue their dreams and keep their innocence but there children must grown up quickly and learn the lessons of life.
Five Broken Cameras (URL)
Five Broken Cameras was a little depressing to watch, but I enjoyed it. It was different from most of the films we have seen in class because it wasn't staged, and it was a naturalistic observational way to study the behavior of people in Bil'in. I felt like I was there during a couple of the scenes because you could see peoples real reactions and see the true behavior of Israelis. It was obvious people didn't want Emad Burnat filming, which added suspense to the film because you were nervous that at any point in time the camera would get shot. This film helped me understand how it felt to live there, and what those people had to go through everyday. It is a highly personal, first-hand description of what was happening in Bil'in that made you sad to see even little kids taking part in. There was a part in the film were a dad brought his son with him to protest, and his son seemed excited to start protesting himself. The endurance of the protesters amazed me because everyday they seemed to return with a new hope that the soldiers couldn't take away. This documentary was a moving work of art because between the voice over narroration and images displayed, it really helped the audience understand what they were going through. You could tell how much work went into it too because it was footage that took Burnat over five years to record.

You're Gonna Need a Bigger Boat
To finish up the horror and suspense genre, we watched the old-time classic film Jaws. We all know the story of a killer great white killing innocent, unsuspecting swimmers off the coast of Amity Island. Three men, a shark hunter, a marine biologist, and the Amity Island sheriff set off to kill the monster and bring it's crimes to justice. The elements of the film continually keep you at the edge of your seat and guessing till the very end. Jaws itself set forth a stereotype of sharks that has terrified people for decades and keeps you from even dipping a toe in the water. Spielberg directed the film to portray sharks as ruthless man-eating machines and that their specific pray is in fact, humans. Not only that, the shark in the movie made the shark out to be smarter than anticipated from a marine animal, and rather stalking of its hunters. One scene in the movie that added to this picture of sharks being killers is the story Quint related to his fellow shipmates of the U.S.S. Indianapolis. About 11,000 men in the water and only a little over 300 came out, all due to sharks. The representation of sharks in Jaws should give everyone the right to be terrified of them.In perspective to other thriller movies, Jaws sets a category of it's own. Not only does it interpret fear emitted from an animal, but it takes an unusually unique perspective on hunter and the hunted. Halfway through the movie, the roles of predator and prey switch, with the ruthless shark pursuing it's hunters in comparison to the original roles in the beginning of the movie. In short, Jaws is and will always remain a classic, topping the lists of movie fanatics for decades to come.

Film Critique (Jaws)
I enjoyed this film because even though you could tell it was an older film, the storyline and visual effects were still good. Not until half way through the film did they show the shark, which surprised me because the filmmakers did a great job at showing how large the shark was in comparison to the boat and people. Another clever element I found was the two notes that were played every time the shark was approaching. The characters in the film couldn't see it coming, but it allowed the audience to know when the shark was going to come out. Some parts were clearly unrealistic, but I think that is what made the film so intense. It definitely changed my outlook on sharks because I know they're not man eaters, but it's scary to think how quickly they come out of nowhere. The series of events that lead up to them searching for the shark helped create a good storyline because the film would have been boring if they were on the boat the entire time. I think what really set the scary mood for this film was the music, shark attacks hear and there, and the stories that were told (like the one that crazy dude shared when they were all on the boat). Between the two recent films we have watched, I would say I liked The Sixth Sense better in some ways because it was more realistic and unpredictable. For both of them being pretty old films, I still really enjoyed watching them!
JAW$
Jaws has always been a classic, so it wasn't surprising when I heard that we were going to watch it. Jaws is a film in the horror genre because there is some parts where things just pop out at you out of nowhere which makes some people jump and scared. There was also some scenes with shark attacks and blood was going everywhere which is always nice in horror films. Jaws is a little cheesy but it's a great film for the time that it came out. When Jaws came out, people wanted some more and there was a demand for shark attack movies during that time. Steve is a genius for creating movies like this, he has always been a really great director and Jaws was definitely one, if not his biggest film sequel. Most people are very afraid of the ocean and sharks because they don't really know about those things. That's another concept that makes this film a horror. If people are already scared of sharks, why not make a film about shark attacks? People were thrilled with the Jaw films, and people still watch them till this day. Jaws was a great movie and it will always be a classic, I recommend everyone to watch at least once in their lifetime. 9/10
Jaws
Jaws is a special movie because of the very real feeling of danger it produces. Although I suspected that the shark would be caught, I was still terrified when the boat started to fall apart, and it seemed that is was the end of the line for the sheriff. This is in part due to the excellent special effects. The shark seemed very real, in its behaviors, and the way it looked. Also, the acting is fantastic, especially the fisherman, who really stuck out and helped to give the whole movie more character.
This isn't to say the movie is perfect. It was very slow at first, and the movie didn't pull me in until the little boy was eaten at the beach. This is in stark contrast to the Sixth Sense, which was both frightening and intriguing throughout the entire film. In fact, I think Jaws is very much lacking in an interesting/worthwhile plot, and it seems that its only purpose is to pull in a viewer and scare them. But maybe that's the point.

JAWS
Jaws is one of those movies every movie fanatic has seen, it is a classic and has been since the day it came out. It was completely original having a great mixture of action, adventure and thrill. It is another one of those movies that is hard not to watch, once its on you can't look away from the screen! When this movie came out it gave people a fear of the unknown, the ocean. There isn't much we know about our own ocean and that scares people especially when they create this monster fish that hunts people. It was brilliant, it is a horror movie because its something we don't know about, especially when this movie came out people didn't really know sharks don't like to eat people and shark attacks are usually because the shark mistakes you for something else. So people thought this could actually happen, not like when we see horror movies like "Candy Man" or "Poltergeist" and we can tell ourselves it's impossible for that to happen.
Jaws Film Critique
The film Jaws is a film about a shark who kills a lot of people. The main character and policeman Martin Brody and two other mens going to kill the shark. During their attempt to kill the shark one of them is eaten by the shark. Finally Martin succeed to kill the shark.
The first half of the film was a little bit boring and I was wondering why it is an horror/adventure film but in the last few minutes I understood why. It was shocking to see how the shark eats one of the three mens.
Jaws is different to the Sixth Sense because in Jaws is an animal the scary thing and it is more realistic so it could happen. The Sixth Sense is more mental, so it's supernatural. You also can puzzle and guess what happens next but you don't really know.
In Jaws you wait for the shark. And you can know a little bit what happens next, because the shark can't do nothing else than kill people or be killed.
Jaws
Jaws is one of the best classic movie that I have seen I love the suspense of the movie it all ways gets me when I watched it. The best thing about the movie is the song I all ways to the beat when i'm sneaking up on someone. The reason why I think they used a shark is because it is a very big fish its in the water its the hardest animal to get away form and it is a animal that give a lot of suspense because you don't know where its coming from and thats pretty scare for me. The first time I saw Jaws was not the movie but at the universal studio and going though the ride and I was only six years old that ride made me afraid of sharks. If you have to see a classic movie choose Jaws.
JAWS
Jaws is such an exciting movie! I had never seen it before today and I had originally thought that it it was made so long ago the digital effects would be below standard and very fake looking. Now I see that it was really quite realistic and thrilling. It is one of my biggest fears to get lost in the ocean and I can only imagine how scary it would be to be chased by a shark. The scientist that comes to study the shark is kind of a odd man but he knows the terror that happened on the beach is just beginning of something more to come . Martin is scared of the ocean and terrified of sharks, he won't even go swimming with his kids, although now he is forced to go out looking for the man-eater out on the waters he fears most. It is so sad when the young boy is killed by the shark and in a way it was the towns people's fault because they were more interested in getting money from tourists than the safety of others. I don't understand why the people won't listen to the scientist and only care about getting back to the beach, they are making a huge mistake. All the old men fisherman who jump on their boats and try to catch the shark with a chain and hook are so stupid and underestimate the power of a shark.
I think that a shark was chosen because of the qualities we all associate with these amazing and deadly creatures. Sharks have been around since prehistoric times and they are always characterized as man-eaters when ever we hear about them. The plot is actually quite realistic because rouge sharks have been know to attack (like bethany hamilton, in soul surfer) so people are already scared this could potentially happen to you. I got chills when he was talking about the sharks "inhuman eyes rolling back as he takes a bite" because sharks are real life monsters. Everyone knows what a shark is but most people are uneducated to what they should do in a situation where they come into contact with one, so it makes everyone wonder what it would be like and if they would survive.
SHARK ATTACK
The movie jaws is a suspense/adventure film. It starts off in a small oceanside town with a tightly knit community. This towns main source of income is the beach, it is a summer town. When the shark first starts eating the mayor does not allow the town to close down it's beaches. This is bad due to the fact that the shark eats another human, and comes close to eating many more.
Jaws then follows the adventure of 3 characters as they track the beast down in order to kill it and save the town. During this trip there are many moments of suspense created as the crew members come close to death from the great white. Suspense is made within this movie by the music/placement of the shark. You start getting shivers up your body whenever you see the shark and the music starts playing, this is simply because something bad is going to potentially happen.
The fact that the antagonist is a shark is a huge bonus! Sharks are real and actually exist! It is very possible that people can be eaten by a shark. The horror aspect of this film is created due to the real possibility of being consumed by a shark as its main course. Had it been a Kraken the movie simply would not have been the same due to the non real aspect. The shark definitely plays a key role into why this movie was so successful. I give it 9 missed shots out of 10.

The Great White Killer
Jaws was a suspenseful movie with moments of excitement and terror. The use of this animal was creative and true in its self; in reality there are shark attack but none of them are as gruesome as Jaws was. What Made this movie very suspenseful was the creature it self, you never really knew what it looked like which left it up to imagination. Another aspect that made it very suspenseful was how intelligent the shark was, it would toy around with Martin, Hopper, and Quint.
Over all the movie was suspenseful at moments, other times it would be just dialoge and just express the danger of the Great White Shark. The music theme that was played for when the shark is about to attack gave you a short of anxiety feeling that you never knew what it might do, but there were moments where the music just lost the that feeling for example when Hooper drives the boat behind the shark and the suspenseful music changes and it lost its feeling of suspense.

Jaws
Jaws, an iconic movie that has shaped our view of sharks forever. It is a mixture of suspense and adventure along with aspects of horror. Spielberg has made a movie based on the fear of the unknown and wrapped it in an exaggerated extreme of a situation. A huge shark that you can not see, but can see you, one that eats when you least expect it and hunts you in an environment where you cannot defend yourself. Jaws is the responsible for many pro shark inclinations and many bad ones including, fear of the ocean, shark hunts, and fear of a majestic creature. It along with the negatives came positives. This inspired people to become shark activists and enthusiast which has helped the understanding of sharks as whole for many generations. The Sixth Sense and Jaws are very different movies, but very similar in nature. Jaws as well as The Sixth Sense uses music/sound to their advantage. Jaws is a wonderful work of art that even now is making me jump out of my seat which is rare for a movie of this age to have an effect like this on me.
Jaws
Jaws revolutionized the suspense genre. This movie shows that nature cannot be tamed by mankind and the shark in jaws is an example of the most dangerous that nature has to offer. It also shows that safety should come before money and other selfish desires. If they had closed the beach after the first shark attack then many other people wouldn't have been hurt and they could have dealt with the problem easier. The way that this movie is scary is it doesn't show the shark often. You rarely see the shark until near the end and things like just showing the boat being tipped, or the barrels dragged through the water make for a suspenseful feeling and when the shark is actually seen it is a lot scarier than it would have been if he hadn't been hiding. It also makes it more believable because if they had shown the shark more often it probably would have looked fake at parts. The movie really makes the shark feel powerful, almost like hes a supernatural monster but it is a realistic natural creature. The fact that Quinn was supposed to be the best at hunting sharks and he was still killed so easily by it shows that it is a ferocious creature. The negative that comes with making the shark so giant and so horrifying is that it changed the worlds perception of sharks and made a creature that rarely kills humans into something that is greatly feared. I feel like it distorted peoples perceptions of sharks but it was needed to tell the story of one shark that was different from all the rest. Overall I would say that jaws is an awesome suspense movie and also a great adventure movie.
Jaws
This movie is a pre known suspense film. Before you watch the movie jaws you know it is going to be focusing mainly about shark attacks but yet you are wondering what is going to happen. Universal studies did a great job for the time this movie was created and the technology they had to make the shark look as real as possible. This movie also created its famous theme music which prepared the audience for the shark attack and created suspense when it played. The scene of being on the ocean on the boat was also very realistic but when in reality it was staged within universal studies and nobody could tell. This movie did a great job create the suspense filled scenario of a abnormal shark attack and it also will lead into the making of many other jaws films to keep the viewers entertained on what happens next.
Jaws
Compared to the Sixth Sense, Jaws was extremely different. There were two completely different elements of fear. In the Sixth Sense, you would know something scary was coming as the music got quieter, or all of a sudden silent. In Jaws, music would lead you up to the scary moment/climax. It was also different how in the Sixth Sense, they would make you be afraid of the mind, while in Jaws, they would make you be afraid of the ocean. Jaws was one of the first films where they used this type of perspective. This movie changed human outlook on sharks to be more frightening. The build up of people that died or went missing was interesting as the beaches became more and more dangerous.
The story was suspenseful, yet fun at the same time. For the time period, they used just the right amount of effects to make the movie shine. Some similar movies use CGI, and in this case, I think that would've been the wrong call. It was great just how they made it. Overall, a good film in our horror genre unit!

JAWS!!!!
Jaws is a very original movie. It brought horror films to the ocean instead of being just in the everyday house. After this film sharks were viewed as these man eating machines and that they were created to do one thing and that was to devour humans. Many people were scared of sharks after this film they pictured that each shark was like jaws and that created this false image to stay out of deep water because the sharks are always there. This film also created the few scary notes that everyone knows about. This few notes are recognized by anywhere and helped create this film. I would give this movie 4 out of 5 because I believe they could have done more hunting for jaws. But, I also think it gets a 4 because of its originality and awesome affects.
Jaws
The classic Jaws changed the way people think about not only sharks but the ocean its self. From the most famous two sounds in a film, to the undeniable frightening new idea of a great white shark. This movie never cesases to amaze me. From the beginning of the children and the people getting eaten, to the Mayors refusal of shutting down the beaches, this classic film will keep you on the edge of your seat until the last second. This film shaped and changed the way many peoples view on the ocean and on sharks. It made people afraid to go into oceans and it made people afraid of sharks. For a movie to have such an impact on a population, you know that it must have been incredible.

Cole See's Dead People
The Sixth Sense was an amazing Suspense film that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Out of all the movies I've seen in Film Studies, this was definitely my favorite. There were 2 main characters, Malcolm and Cole. Malcolm is a doctor, he's a psychologist. Cole is a 9 year old boy who sees ghosts (dead people). During this movie, it starts off with Malcolm getting rewarded a prize from the governor and then him and his wife return home to see a broken window and there is Malcolm's old patient standing in their home bathroom. This patient of his is really shaky and seems to be acting really suspicious, he has a gun. Malcolm tries talking to him and tries getting him to calm down but that doesn't work so Malcolm get's shot, and then the patient shoots himself. The next winter Malcolm is waiting for Cole across the street from his house, Cole comes outside and immediately makes his way towards a church. Once inside, Cole is playing with his action figures and speaking latin. Malcolm walks in after him and tells Malcolm that they're going to get to know each other, if that's okay with Cole. Later in the film, Cole is in a hospital room and Malcolm is right besides him. Cole tells Malcolm that he is now ready to share his secret and he says, "I see dead people." Throughout the rest of the film, Cole sees a lot more dead people that are now visible to the viewers (audience), and he tells Malcolm that the dead people are always angry. Malcolm tells Cole to talk to the dead people, because they might want something from him. Cole ends up helping a lot of the dead people and that makes Cole a lot happier, and he isn't afraid of them anymore. Cole tells his secret to his mother one day after his little play at his school, she doesn't believe him at first but then he starts telling her things that made her believe him and she told him that he isn't a freak like he thinks. From the scene where Malcolm is waiting for Cole outside of his house the fall after he'd been shot, until the last scene, Malcolm was dead. Malcolm was one of those dead people that Cole saw. This was one of the best films I've ever seen in my life, and I recommend everyone to watch it at least once. 10/10

6th S3NSE
This movie goes in depth into a psychologists life. This therapist "fails" his patient years in the past and it comes back to haunt him. His patient shoots him and then kills himself. A few years later the therapist receives a patient with similar conditions to the one that he failed in the past. The movie goes in depth into how the kid can see dead people. The plot unraveling in this movie was superb. If you want to see a great movie that leaves your mind boggled at the end then i highly suggest you see this movie. In the 6th sense the movie will shock you and keep your eyes, as well as your mind glued to the screen. I give this movie 6 out of 6 senses!

Sixth Sense
The Sixth Sense is really one of a kind, in the sense it is truly terrifying at times, although almost no blood or guts is seen at all. This, along with the themes/motifs this movie carries, makes it without a doubt, one of the most mature horror movies I've seen. It's also probably my favorite, because of the excellent collaboration of acting, writing, directing, cinematography, and the soundtrack; which all come together to put this a head above the rest.
What makes this film so wonderful to watch, though, is not simply the acting, or the terror it instills, or even the plot itself. It is the way in which the writer/director M. Night Shyamalan takes his vision from the page, and carefully crafts a tale that completely absorbs the viewer. As a result, we are treated to a wealth of emotion: fear, sadness, joy, confusion, and humor, each one a compliment to the other.

Sixth Sense
The sixth sense is a suspense/horror film that everybody can watch even the people who do not like this genre and I will tell you why. It is fabulous story that any avid film watcher would seek to find in any sort of genre. Personally the sounds the movie where by themselves a master piece, the sounds alone were the thing making me jump out of my seat. The sound was perfectly synced and so appropriate for the scene being displayed with made a perfect duo for executing the scare. It is a sad story mixed in with suspense that just makes it second to none.I thought the mixture of a love and scary movie would not work very well but this movie did it and did it well without any flaws or cracks. This original work of art has been an inspiration to many movies and writers and will continue to be

I think its very nice movie and little scary but I think sometimes thats exciting. Everything start from a boy, he said he could see the dead people everyday and everywhere. The doctor wants to help this boy, because his last time the boy has the same things, but he didn't successful. He wants to try again. First the boy thinks this doctor its not work, a few days later, the boy believe this doctor, told him the true. The doctor believe whats the boy said. He thinks the boy should help this boy and talk with them. A night this boy help a girl and find who kill this girl. After that the boy fell better than before.
Film Critique (Sixth Sense)
I enjoyed the sixth sense because is was very suspenseful and misleading. There were so many hidden things I was unaware of, such as MALCOLM BEING DEAD! For some reason I never took into account that he never talked to anyone other than Cole in the film. I thought it was clever how the movie showed the characters cold breath to emphasize when a ghost was around or something was about to happen. It made it more intense because you knew something was coming that the character didn't. When I found out Malcolm was a ghost it surprised me because all the other ghosts looked scary or had blood on them. You never saw the blood on him till the very end. For how young of an actor Cole was in this film, he did really well at making you feel his fear. The scene with him and his mom in the car was probably the best of the whole film because you can tell how sincere both of the characters were. Malcolm never showed much emotion during the film because I suppose he was used to being around kids like that, but he really opened up when he got to know Cole. I enjoyed this film and would definitely watch it again!
