West Side Story

West Side Story is an musical by Leonardo Bernstein, produced into a film by Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins in 1961.

The film is about the hate of two gangs: The Sharks from America and the Jets, immigrants from Puerto Rico. 

Maria, the sister from Bernando and the girlfriend from Chino falls in love with Tony, the leader from the Sharks. Tony falls in love with her as well. 

At the final fight between these both gangs, where people die. 

At the end Tony is shoot by Chino. But there is hope that the both gangs find peace between each other because they carry Tony's body together away. 

The film is pretty good. It shows how it is still today. That people fight against each other without reason and then they lose the people, who are the most important thing for them. But that there can be peace if there is one person, who isn't running with the crowd. The one, who is different and sees that something isn't right. And then the people follow.

The music is good and the dances. I like musicals and I think music is a good way to express the feeling and brings the emotions closer to the audition. You can see that the film is old because of the picture and the sound.
