Elf is such a lovable movie that brightens everyones day. This is one of the only Will Ferrel movies I actually enjoy, he usually uses more crude humor that I don't find very funny. His over the top, silly acting is perfect for this movie and his character is very sweet. Elf has become something of a Christmas classic for all ages. I think that the writing is very well done because every scene seemed genuine.
Innocence is a main factor in why this movie is so warm-hearted. Buddy does not have any ill-intentions towards anyone and the problems he causes are simply out of ignorance of the world. Buddy tries to help everyone and spreads Christmas cheer where-ever he goes. Buddy struggles with his identity as an elf and goes on the journey to finding his place in the human world.
