The film Amazing Grace is about the abolishment of the slave trade. The main character is William Wilberforce. He fails a few times to abolish the slave trade and he's disappointed about that. His wife convinces him to keep going to fight against the the slave trade. It takes him twenty years that the parliament passes the bill. The film is a biographical film.
I didn't knew that in Great Britain also an abolition movement was, so that was interesting to see. It is a good film to see how the abolition movement was in Britain and how long it took. The camera picture is good and it hasn't the typical hollywood colors. The film uses more dark light, to support the significant of the slave trade act. I really liked the film music and of course the end, when they play song Amazing Grace on the bagpipes, that was really emotional.
The only thing, I didn't liked is, that the film is pretty long and that made it a little bit hard to follow if you watch it in multiple sections. Ioan Gruffudd did a good job as William Wilberforce.
