SHARK ATTACK

The movie jaws is a suspense/adventure film.  It starts off in a small oceanside town with a tightly knit community.  This towns main source of income is the beach, it is a summer town.  When the shark first starts eating the mayor does not allow the town to close down it's beaches.  This is bad due to the fact that the shark eats another human, and comes close to eating many more.
Jaws then follows the adventure of 3 characters as they track the beast down in order to kill it and save the town.  During this trip there are many moments of suspense created as the crew members come close to death from the great white.  Suspense is made within this movie by the music/placement of the shark.  You start getting shivers up your body whenever you see the shark and the music starts playing, this is simply because something bad is going to potentially happen.
The fact that the antagonist is a shark is a huge bonus!  Sharks are real and actually exist! It is very possible that people can be eaten by a shark.  The horror aspect of this film is created due to the real possibility of being consumed by a shark as its main course.  Had it been a Kraken the movie simply would not have been the same due to the non real aspect.  The shark definitely plays a key role into why this movie was so successful.  I give it 9 missed shots out of 10.
