Hairspray

Hairspray is one of those movies that you either love it, or you dislike it. For a musical, there are great things about this movie. John Travolta in this movie is absolutely stunning as an overweight mother of an aspiring dancer. This movie follows this dancer, along with many african american dancers in the '60s. During this time, there was no integration between whites and blacks. Especially on television. The movie follows these groups of teenagers through the tough moral times. The decision of what it right and what is wrong, and what to do about the decisions, shows through the characters choices. Wether they fight, or stand by. This movie is great in showing how much of a difference one person can make when they set their mind to something. This movie is one of those movies, that has the ability to impact your life if you let it.
