5 Broken Cameras
Taken from an aspect of another side of the story that is not often looked at, if not completely ignored. The film is shot by a Palestinian man living in Bil'in, a village located in West Bank in the middle east. His five cameras capture the non-violent protests of his village, speaking out against the Israeli government taking over their land to form a physical border between the two countries, and the violent rebuttal's the protests receive. The film touches on the brutality of the human spirit and that there's two sides to every story. To see the perspective of another in a war that is highly publicized, was eye opening in a sense. The news seems to interpret the Palestinians as the "enemy" and that they are the ones attacking the Israelis, when reality the Israelis are just as, if not more, guilty for acts of murder, unlawful arrests, and brutality against the Palestinians. The way it appears is that these two worn torn countries that have had their own fair share of loss and blood shed from the opposing side, and that not one, but both are to blame for the tragedies that have swept over their homelands.
This is a very good review on the documentary and tells you exactly what you will be watching.
ReplyDeleteI agree that it was eye opening to see the perspective of people living in he foreign country. I cannot imagine what it's like to live there.
